Mesh2Print is a free plugin for Maya, Blender, 3DS Max and Cinema 4D that repairs your geometry and exports clean .3MF files straight to your slicer — no manual cleanup, no fuss.

Works with your DCC tools — on Windows & macOS
Most 3D models aren't print-ready straight out of your DCC. Mesh2Print diagnoses and fixes the most common issues automatically — before a single slice is computed.
Scans every edge in your mesh. Reports boundary edges (open holes) and non-manifold edges (shared by 3+ faces) before export — so you know exactly what needs fixing.
Merges vertices within a configurable tolerance (default 0.1 µm). Eliminates invisible seams and T-junctions that cause slicer artefacts and incorrect wall thickness calculations.
Strips out zero-area triangles — collapsed faces or duplicated vertices that cause slicer errors and incorrect volume calculations.
Uses BFS flood-fill to make triangle winding consistent across the whole mesh, then applies an outward-facing majority vote. Fixes inverted faces that print as voids or cause slicer confusion.
Detects open boundary edge loops and fills them using fan triangulation from the loop centroid. Works well for flat and near-flat holes like missing caps and open ends.
Every repair action is listed in a live log inside the export dialog — merged vertices, removed faces, filled holes — so you always know what was changed and why.
All the options you need to get a print-ready .3MF out of any DCC.
Reads your scene units (mm, cm, m, inches, feet) and converts to millimetres as required by the 3MF spec. No surprises in your slicer.
Maya and Cinema 4D are Y-up; Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer and Cura expect Z-up. One checkbox reorients your model automatically.
Drop to floor (Z = 0) and centre on the build plate in one click — no manual repositioning inside your slicer.
Each selected object becomes a separate component in the .3MF — perfect for multi-material or multi-colour Bambu prints.
Scrollable checklist of all mesh objects with checkboxes. Include or exclude individual objects without changing your DCC selection.
Apply an additional scale factor on top of automatic unit conversion — useful for scaling prototypes or correcting print size on the fly.
Keep objects as separate 3MF components, or merge everything into a single mesh for simpler single-material prints.
Automatically opens the output folder in Finder or Explorer — drag the .3MF straight into your slicer.
No subscription, no licence key, no account. Pure Python — no external dependencies. A gift from InfernoVFX.
No digging through application folders. No config files to edit. Mesh2Print ships with a GUI installer that automatically finds every DCC app on your machine and drops the plugin in the right place — on both Windows and macOS.
Mesh2Print is free. No catches.
Everything else you might want to know.
No. Each installer is a standalone executable compiled with Nuitka — just double-click and run. Mesh2Print uses each DCC's own built-in Python automatically once installed.
.3MF is the modern successor to STL. It supports units, orientation, multi-part assemblies and is the preferred format for Bambu Studio and PrusaSlicer.
It handles flat and near-flat holes very well (missing caps, open ends). Complex curved or twisted holes may need manual repair — Mesh2Print will still detect and report them even if it can't fill them perfectly.
No — Autodesk discontinued 3DS Max for macOS years ago. The Max plugin is Windows-only. Maya, Blender and Cinema 4D work on both platforms.
All major slicers: Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura, Simplify3D, Chitubox, Lychee Slicer, and more.
Maya 2022–2025+, Blender 3.0–4.x, 3DS Max 2022–2026+, Cinema 4D 2023+. Older versions may work but are untested.
